EPISODE 1
It was a light warm afternoon in boston. The sun was at its peak, though not obvious to all and sundry due to its temporal shielding by grey clouds. People were seen going about their daily activities. As usual, the street was deserted and quite.
Few kids were playing basket ball in a court behind a huge building.
Dwayne professional boxing school was among the tallest structures on the street.
It was owned by a leading figure in the world of boxing. Rumours had it that Dwayne’s boxing records was a contributing factor in flooding students to the academy.
Thick punch bags of variant colours hung freely from the cieling in the training section. Nathan stood at his wing, fully equiped with red thick gloves and black boots. He threw a left jab at the resiliant bag, two power driven kicks ensued almost at the drop of a hat.
His taekwondo skills weren’t enough, he’d enrolled in many training lately. Two weeks ago, he brought his fencing and gun handling course to an end.
He was just months away from graduating, after which he’d search for mr. Adewale. Failing to prepare automatically meant preparing to fail. The reports he read about Adewale showed the latter was dangerous. Mice must be armed to the teeth, if its to fight a lion!
Nathan had been exercising for forty-five minutes, he was exhausted. It showed on his face and passed through his rapid breathing.
The young man took two steps backward, he stood still for 30 seconds, his breath was sliding to normal.
Nathan felt a tap on his left shoulder, he turned swiftly. Mr. Ryan smiled.
Ryan was his tutor, the school had many coaches, they were in a ratio of one coach to five students. Nathan was the best in his group, his former skills in martial arts helped to keep this feat.
“you’ar improving, i like it” the coach commended and continued. “your opponent wouldn’t be a stationary punch bag. Your eye movement must be sharp and in consonance to the enemy. That way, you would dicipher their moves and counter them. While punching, your free hand is to serve as a shield for the entire body. Do not forget this: all your moves must be precise and calculative….”
Nathan kept nodding to the man’s words. He was tired, isn’t it obvious?!
“good, lets have a match” the tutor finalised with a grin, whilst pointing to a vacant ring.
Nathan bit his lower lip, the last he was in the ring with Ryan, he ended up with a bleeding nose.

“don’t you get tired of this food?” Jenny teased.
Letty smiled. Pounded yam and egusi soup was her favourite, she rarely ordered for different meals. The waiters knew her for this.
Leventis restaurant was famous for its inter continental dishes, top notch nigerian meals weren’t left out, as the restaurant was owned by a Nigerian.
The waiter served their meals, Jenny ordered for fried rice and orange squash. Leventis restaurant had a taste of luxury, its bills were high in the fog, at first, letty didn’t buy the idea of eating here, Jenny was persistent about it.
Jenny sipped her juice, “how do you intend going about your assignment?”
Leturah’s smile faded. “i still don’t know.” she replied honestly. She was to investigate a gang fight that occured in Dwayne boxing school four days ago.
It was part of her project, as a student studying investigative journalism.
She wished she could resist, atleast her first experience shouldn’t be in resolving crimes!
The professor was hell bent on getting report within two weeks.
Letty hissed and continued eating. She was biting chicken when her eyes trailed sideways. She almost chocked seeing Nathan with another lady. He’d forgotten about her and moved on. Tears trailed down her cheek, she’d used her own hands to ruin herself. After the incident in her lodge, Nathan tried contacting her countless number of times. She’d rejected all his advances.
The lady quickly wiped her tears. “excuse me” she muttered, getting up, she made for the rest room.
Nathan drank from his glass of red wine. He was at the restaurant together with grace. The lady had been friendly in the past few days, she’d been there for him all through the period his mum was admitted. She’d even cooked for his mum on several occasions.
After boxing, he’d ran into her on his way home. She’d opted for lunch in the restaurant, which he obliged.
Being with Grace, hadn’t made him forget Letty, he hadn’t got the chance to speak with her, she was always turning him off. He saw her rushing towards the restroom, she didn’t seem okay.
“excuse me please” he winked at grace and started towards the restroom.
What next?
